SNOWDEN

Shelby, devoted and caring husband of Virginia (Monroe), and loving stepfather to Keith (Sue) and Kurt (Karen) Monroe, dear grandfather of Kris, Sean, Jessica, and Mackenzie Monroe; Devoted great-grandfather of Kaden Monroe. Surviving brothers, Bobby Ray (Alice), Claude, and Floyd. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and many great friends. Preceded in death by parents, Bertha and Richard Snowden and Siblings, E.M., Almedia, Imogene, Richard L., and Earl. U.S. Army (retired), having served as a Ranger in World War II, awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart in France. He also served in the Korean War. Peacefully passed away October 25, 2013 at the age of 91. Many thanks to the Vitas Hospice Care and Triple Creek Nursing Care. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 3301 Compton Road, 45251. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice Care or Christ Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com

Shelby was such a blessing and will be missed. He was always smiling and invoked such a feeling of happiness. Take comfort in knowing you will always have him in your heart and his spirit will be guiding you.
