Susan Lennert Obituary

Susan T. Lennert

Cincinnati - Susan (nee Terbrueggen) Lennert joined her beloved husband, David, in eternal rest on May 22, 2020. Sue grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. She attended the University of Detroit where she met Dave Lennert. The two were wed in 1963, and settled in Cincinnati, OH. She worked as a Medical Technologist at Good Samaritan and Providence Hospitals. Sue was a loving and kind person. She always focused on the things that were most important—family and friends. She was generous with her time as a Girl Scout Leader, an active member of St. Vivian church and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Most recently she volunteered at CAIN (Churches Active in Northside) and IVC (Ignatian Volunteer Corps). She lived an active life of travel, water-skiing, bicycling, camping, and hiking. She also enjoyed and supported fine and preforming arts. Sue will be missed by so many, as her selfless good deeds touched the lives of family and friends as well as strangers in need. Sue was pre-deceased by her husband of 43 years, David Lennert; her parents, Robert & Ruth; and her brother, Mark. She is survived by her children: B. David (Diane) Lennert, Jill (Vin) DeLucia, and Angela (Tom) Wilcox; her brothers Joel (Carol) and Jan (Pam) Terbrueggen. Sue also leaves behind her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jake, Danny, Jasmine, Charlie, Veronica, Adam, Katie, and Rae; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Church. Due to current events, services will be limited to family, but there is hope of a celebration in her honor at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio and/or the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Online condolences at rohdefuneral.com

Our sympathies from long past friends — Ed and Wanda Behrens: Dave and I started at P&G roughly the same time frame — me as a Chemical Engineer in June, 1961. Wanda and I were married in Oxford, Ohio, August 8, 1964; Dave and Sue attended our wedding.

I transferred to Washington DC in 1976, from where I retired In 1999 and Where we continued to live until three years ago, when we moved in retirement to Austin, Texas. I don’t recall having any contact with them following our transfer to DC — so it has been a long time.

Yesterday we celebrated our 56th Wedding Anniversary, and were looking through photos and began researching old friends online.

I was saddened to find their obituaries: Such fine people and friends — and Sue so recent!

Our sympathies to all — Ed and Wanda Behrens

Sue & Dave were good friends of my parents. Growing up there are many fond memories of backyard picnics and a great canoe trip down the Au Sable River in Michigan one summer. Our condolences to the family, Sue will be greatly missed.

Sue was a co-worker from Providence and such a kind, generous, and intelligent lady! We had such a special group of people in the lab all those years as we all watched Sue's kids grow up, as we attended some of the weddings and her Dad's and Dave's funerals. Loved hearing all of Sue and Dave's travel stories! She was kind enough to take a group of us on a boat ride each summer when they had their boat. She was a special lady and will be dearly missed.

Sue was a coworker and great friend for many years. Her kindness, generosity and helpfulness were legend. If I had a problem or just needed to talk, Sue was always willing to listen. She had the energy of a younger person for years. The people/charities she helped, as well as her friends, were beneficiaries of her wonderfully giving spirit. Our group(Lucy, Jeanne, myself and Sue) had many fun times together. We all loved her so much....She will always be remembered and those memories are our treasures. My condolences to all her children, brothers, grandchildren and friends. May your loving memories help you through this sad time.

My sincere condolences to all. I worked with Sue for 13 years at Providence Hospital. She was a friend, a coworker, and sometimes counselor to us all. My husband, Scott, and I used to "house-sit" and look after the pool, when she and Dave went on vacation. She was a very generous and caring soul, and will be so missed. I am so sorry for the loss of such a great woman. May her spirit encourage us, and our memories carry us.

My sincere condolences to the family. Sue and Dave were wonderful neighbors. They were the first to welcome my husband and I to the neighborhood and they lived two doors away. I worked with Dave at P&G; we shared a wall between our cubicles. Two of the kindest neighbors and people I was blessed to meet. Rest peacefully together. With Sincere and Heartfelt Sympathy, Raye Ann Cosby

I remember Sue from our Providence Hospital lab days as being the most kind, interesting and socially aware person. I'm so glad she continued to live a life of giving and guiding those around her. Her grace lives on in many I'm sure.
