Thomas "Tom" Alexander, died Thursday, March 14th at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (nee Moore) Evans. Children, Ron (Denise) Evans, Patty (Rick) Messinger, Joannie (Rusty) McHugh, Kathy (Bob) Runion, Jim (Bridgette) Evans and Steve (Wendi) Evans. Proud Grandfather of Ricky (Christin) Messinger, Amber Evans, Kenny Messinger, Bobby Runion, Amanda Runion, Lauren Volker, Luke Volker, Jake Volker, Alex Evans, Ashley Evans, Patrick McHugh, Ethan Evans, Joe McHugh and Elizabeth Evans. Great grandfather of Madison Porter, Kamron Messinger and Isabella Messinger. Close family friend of Tom and Mary Volker. Brother-in-Law of Mike (Janice) Moore, MaryJo (Don) Hamant, Mark (Judy) Thieken, Dick (Donna) Moore, Phil (Joan) Moore and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Evans (2005), father, Alex Evans (1980), sister, MaryAnn and brother, Johnny. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy from 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 18, 2013, 10:30am at St. Clements Church, 4536 Vine St., St. Bernard. Memorials suggested to Ronald McDonald House or Fisher House at Veterans Hospital. Condolences may be left for the family at: www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com

I was sad to hear of Tom's passing. He was always so kind and helpful to me, a father figure in the car department. His skill and attention to ensuring that I had a safe vehicle was a gift as I was a single parent with zero car mechanical skills. His memory will always be a blessing in my life.

I just learned of Tom's passing (3/25/13)I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good friend, an honest professional businessman. I will remember the times we spent with Special Olympics and the kids in our community.

Mr. Tom will always have a special place in my heart. I will forever remember him doing the "daddy check" on all my various vehicles before I would drive down south by myself. And him offering his own vehicle when mine wasn't going to be ready in time to get my daughter from preschool. God doesn't make a lot of people like Mr. Tom, so I am sure glad I had the honor of meeting him. He will truly be missed.

I just saw that Tom had died when I rode past the shop today. I'm so sorry. You know that he was a good man, he treated every person he met openly and fairly. I saw him frequently in the mornings when I rode past the shop on the way to work and there would always be a wave and a "Hello". He was a joy to know.

Mrs. Evans,

I just learned of Mr. Evans passing and I am so sorry for your loss. I came to know Mr. Evans from his visits to the diagnostic desk at The Christ Hospital. Mr. Evans was very special and I will always remember his kindness and warm smile. I am so thankful that our paths crossed. Mrs. Evans,
I are so very sorry for your loss. I still remember Mr. Evans bringing me home when I attempted to stay overnight at your house when I was a little girl. He carried me on his shoulders and brought be around the corner to my house. He will be fondly remembered by all of the Helms family as well as the Bennett family. We are very saddened by the loss of Uncle Tom. He was such a special person and we will always remember his huge smile and how he cared for everyone. We will always remember him and Aunt Nancy at our wedding and how the two of them seemed to be the ring leaders in singing the "welcome to the family Moore song" the morning after our wedding at 7am. Evans family: We are so sorry for your loss. Tom was a wonderful, caring person and will be greatly missed by many. I will always remember delivering Christmas baskets with Tom, Christin, and two of his Grandson's. It was very early, and very cold. And we must have delivered to 20 homes that morning.Everyone we visited was happy to see us and grateful to get the baskets of food. Tom's chartible heart will always be an inspiration to me and I'm sure to many, many others.
