William LIPPMANN Obituary

LIPPMANNWilliam, lost his 23 year battle with brain cancer and died Friday, February 9 at the Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born September 24, 1946 in Independence, Missouri, and attended Boone High School in Orlando, Florida. A musician, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music (CCM) with a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Xavier University with a Master in Education degree. An accomplished clarinetist, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a band director at Reading Elementary, Middle and High School where he worked for 21 years. He was married on September 3, 1967 to Bloom Lippmann, whom he met and fell in love with his freshman year at CCM and they were married for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Bloom Lippmann of Cincinnati, OH, his brother, Jim Lippmann of Pittsburgh, PA and his sister Judy Lippmann of Los Angeles, CA. Also surviving are his two sons and their wives, Jonathan Lipmann (Ruth), 34, of Nashville, TN and Jason Lippmann (Keren), 31, of Los Angeles, CA, and his grandson, Jonah Lippmann, 6 months. Donations may be made to the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music in honor of William Lippmann. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13th, from 5:00 PM until the time of service 7:00 PM at the Jon Deitloff Funeral Centre 4389 Spring Grove Avenue (853-1035). Entombment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery.
