Carol Teeters Obituary

South Bloomfield Carol Ann Teeters, 82, of South Bloomfield, OH passed away at home surrounded

by her loving family on Monday, May 20, 2024. She was born on November 9,

1941 in Fremont, OH to the late Franklin Lee and Cleo Ivy (Hill) Bowman. She

grew up on the Near East Side of Columbus where she attended Columbus Public

Schools. As a child she would walk to the Southern Theater and would enjoy

watching the latest Elvis Presley movie without screaming, crying or fainting the

way many of her fellow teenyboppers did. One fateful day, Carol was drinking a

Coke in the bar where her mother worked when a guy who was "different than the

other guys" walked in and asked her out. They went out, fell in love, got married,

and started making babies - not necessarily in that order. Carol worked a few part

time jobs over the years but her full-time and favorite jobs were being a mother

and a wife. Before she lost her eyesight, she was an avid reader and thoroughly

enjoyed reading romance novels. She was a member of South Bloomfield United

Methodist Church where she passed out programs because it allowed her to share

smiles, handshakes, or hugs with her fellow parishioners. Carol loved cats,

listening to music, and watching her television shows - true crime, "Reba", and,

her favorite, "The Golden Girls." All of her life Carol met adversity with grace and

humility. Her strength and resilience were, and will continue to be, an inspiration

to her children.

Besides her parents, Carol is preceded in death by husband of 62 years Charles R.

Teeters Sr. in February 2023; son Franklin Patrick Teeters; brother William

Bowman; sister Barbara Wahlenmaier; grandson Shawn Edwards; fur Grandbaby

Kitties Chloe & Susie.

Carol is survived by children Jannette (Ron) Fausnaugh, Pam (Eric) Smith, Charles

"Ron" (Deborah) Teeters, Jr., Billy (Eunice Bowen) Teeters, Laura Teeters, and

Joe Teeters; grandchildren Ronald (Shannon) Fausnaugh, Adam (Anne)

Fausnaugh, Spencer Teeters, Morgan Teeters (Luke Carpenter), Megan (Kyle)

Mason, Katie (Ricky) Shutts, Madison Dixon (Tyler Brumfield); great-

grandchildren Carter, Reese, Grant, Emilia, Mason, Jordy, Jamey, Henry and

Gertie; many nieces and nephews (including great and great-great) and extended

family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St.

Ashville. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th at

South Bloomfield UMC, 5027 West 2nd Street, South Bloomfield, with Pastor

Floyd Hubbell officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery,

South Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Ashville Food

Pantry, 20 Church St. Ashville, OH 43103 or National Church Residences

Hospice, 2245 North Bank Drive, Columbus, OH 43220 or Cat Welfare Assoc.
