Sharon Compton Obituary
Born Sharon Kay Miller, daughter of John and Arleta (Amspaugh) Miller, grew up with a strong heart and a generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Frances Imler, and leaves behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
Sharon was the cherished wife of Edward Compton for 65 years, a partnership rooted in faith, humor, and the kind of love that grows deeper with time. Together they raised three children: Cathy (Dave) Holbrook, Denny (Sharon) Compton, and Brian Kelly (Jackie) Compton, who carry forward her wisdom and warmth.
She was a proud grandmother to David Holbrook, Jon (Julie) Holbrook, Brad Holbrook, Kyle (Sarah) Compton, and Mariah (Nathan) Mathias, and a joyful great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren who knew her as the woman who never missed a Buckeye game (Grandma Buckeye) and always had something sweet in the kitchen.
For 25 years, Sharon served as a cafeteria cook at Amanda Clearcreek, where her meals nourished more than just bodies, they fed spirits, sparked smiles, and made school feel a little more like home.
She found joy in the simple wonders. Hummingbirds, deer grazing, and the roar of an Ohio State touchdown.
Sharon's generosity, humor, and gentle strength will live on in every life she touched and special mention to lives who touched hers, such as her special friends Peg Hinton, Linda Wemer and the late Mary Johnson. Her legacy is stitched into family stories, Sunday dinners, and the quiet moments when love shows up without fanfare.
Services will be held privately for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairhope Hospice 282 Sells Rd Lancaster, Ohio, whose care and compassion helped guide Sharon's final journey with grace.
