Alphonzo Davis Obituary
ASHEVILLE - Alphonzo Davis, 44, died Friday, February 3, 2012, at home surrounded by family. He was born August 5, 1967 in Asheville to the late Sheila Brewer and William Johnson.
Mr. Davis graduated from Spingarn High School in Washington, DC in May of 1985 and joined the US Navy as an LCAC Operator. He served 24 years and retired on June 26, 2009.
Surviving are his daughters, Tameka, Tasha, Cierra, Jaclyn and Jasmine Davis; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Damari, Juanye and Kejuan Davis; sister, Sonya Jones (Clinton); nephews, Xavier and Christian Jones; an uncle, Ronald Davis.
Services will be held Wednesday at Noon in the chapel of Hart Funeral Service. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services.

I can't believe this.. My heart and prayers go out to his family!! I will never forget working with him at Naval Station Norfolk, he would come down to Admin and joke with us!! He would say its a nice day out I'm going riding with the top down!! Lol he will forever be missed!! Rest with God!!

I served with Alphonzo Davis for just a short time at ACU-4. He was a nice and honest person. My condolenses to his family. Rest in peace Chief, you will be in our memories.

He was an amazing person,and very special to me.He loved life, one time he said-I don't like to sleep,because I think I'm missing something, life is so short.He never knew it will be so short for him.And it's so not fair that person who loved life so much had to leave,but I believe he is in better place now and we all going to meet him there when time comes.I'm going to miss you Alphonzo,thank you very much for all memories,for all our time together, thanks you for everything you've done.You will always stay in my heart.

We all know when a person dies, but when a hero dies we all cry. Most times life isn't kind to some people. To Alphonzo life was just plain mean. He was a good man and he deserved more time to live. I will miss Alphonzo truely. He was a good friend, I will forever miss him. Rest In Peace Alphonzo. May you be remembered by all your friends.

To the Davis family, my heart goes out to you at this time, Alphonso was an inspiration to all who came in contact with him, his strength and courage were truly amazing, our lives will forever be changed because he was a part of them, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, that God brings you peace and confort at this time. To the Davis family, you are in my prayers. I served in the Navy with Alphonzo in Holy Loch Scotland and also onboard the USS Carter Hall. He was a great friend and shipmate.
