Andrew Harper Obituary
Asheville - Andrew Naudain Harper, Jr., passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018.
Andrew was born on February 4, 1932, to the late Andrew Naudain, Sr., and Mabel Woolard Harper.
Andrew graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School. He then went onto Duke University, in Durham, NC. Upon graduation, he went to New York City, working in the advertising department of Milliken Mills. He then worked in fundraising for the United Negro College Fund. He was also a member of the University Club of New York and The North Carolina Society.
Andrew married Mary "Miffy" Ford, of Massachusetts. They lived briefly in Charlotte before returning to Asheville in the late 70s. He retired as a real estate agent with Beverly Hanks.
Surviving family are his first cousins: Gay Woolard Coleman, of Asheville, Kay Atkins Baldwin, of DeBordieu, SC, Joseph Milan, of Tennessee, Thomas Grey, of Durham, Clarice Kennedy, of Raleigh, NC, Larry Woolard, of Canton, GA, and Linda Woolard, of Wilmington, NC.
Andy enjoyed life and kept up with a wide circle of friends from all over. He especially enjoyed having breakfast every morning with "The Good Ol' Boys Club." He loved to travel and had a zest for life. He will be missed by everyone.
A graveside service for Mr. Harper will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Garden of All Souls Cathedral.
