Among my friends in North Carolina, Betty was the friend I knew for the longest. When I would visit Asheville 20 years ago, she would let me stay with her.
When we later bought a house in NC, it was a treat to have her as a neighbor. We enjoyed Betty's company and the time we spent with her: eating dinner, chatting, and watching TV.
It was very sweet to meet some of her family members, and also her friends from Cape Cod, over the years.
I enjoyed talking with Betty and hearing about the fascinating books she was reading. She would get excited about them and share that excitement.
Betty was a deeply devoted, spiritual, person - a truth seeker and a truth finder.
We are very glad we got to know her.
