Blake Allen Becker

Ashville - Blake Allen Becker, 33, of Ashville, NC, was born on November 16, 1978 in Memphis, TN. He attended Christ the King Day School, was a graduate of Germantown High School and the University of North Carolina - Asheville and was a Free-Lance Photographer and writer. He is survived by his parents, Merle Keith Becker (Jan) of Franklin, TN and Sandra Morgan (Jeff) of Collierville, TN. Blake fought a brave, courageous fight since May of this year against lung cancer. God brought him home to Heaven October 10, 2012. He was an avid lover of nature, history, journalism, and a variety of music. His infectious smile, wit and good nature will be missed by his many cousins, friends and family. He always seemed to see the virtue in others rather than their flaws, thank you for that Blake. You brought joy to all of us and you are treasured. We love you all the way to Heaven and back.

The family will receive friends Monday Oct. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 5599 Poplar Ave. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct.16 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Memorial Park. Dear Sandy,
It was so many Christ The King school memories we made with the boys, and especially the special one you made for us at Christmastime to coordinate an outing for us moms and sons and a special Christmas ornament for each. My heart is heavy for you, special Mom and friend. I recalled with Cindy a baseball moment of Blake's when CTK played 2nd Pres at 2nd Pres and he was up to bat and looked at us in the stands and said "dontcha just hate a full count!" I know they say funerals are for the living...but just in case you're watching up there, I want to say how much I loved knowing you. I haven't met anyone before or since quite like you.
