Diana R. Forsyth

Rye, NH - Diane Ramsey Forsyth, 58, of Rye, NH, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born February 20, 1956 in Franklin, NC, a daughter of Margaret (Setser) Ramsey of Franklin, NC and the late Albert L. Ramsey, Jr.

Diane graduated from Franklin, NC High School with the Class of 1974 and Western Carolina University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1978.

She worked as a registered nurse at Portsmouth Regional Hospital for 25 years.

Diane made her home in Rye the past 26 years where as a master gardener she enjoyed designing and planting her flower gardens. She also enjoyed skiing, hiking and the outdoors. She was presently serving on the Southeast Land Trust Board of Directors.

She shared 27 years of marriage with her husband, Mark K. Forsyth.

In addition to her husband and mother, family members include her son, Wesley R. Forsyth of Boston, Mass.; her daughter, Emily L. Forsyth and husband, Christopher, of Towson, MD; her sister, Rebecca Estes and husband, Thomas; two brothers, Ralph Ramsey, Joseph Ramsey and wife, Theresa; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation with family will be held from 4-7 PM., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Forsyth Home, 68 Washington Road, Rye, NH. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rye Congregational Church, 580 Washington Road, Rye, NH followed by a reception at the home of Robert and Eileen Eberhart, 70 Sea Road, Rye Beach, NH.

A second celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 13, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 66 Harrison Avenue, Franklin, NC followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to Dr. David Ryan Pancreatic Cancer Research, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center Development Office, c/o Andy Kitaff, 165 Cambridge Street, STE 600, Boston, MA 02114.
