Grace Haynie Obituary
Marshall - Grace Capps Haynie, of the Hayes Run Community of Madison County, NC passed away at Elderberry Health Care Facility on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the age of 94 after a period of declining health.
She was born to Charlie Capps and Agnes Allen Capps Caldwell on July 26, 1926. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Coy Haynie; brother, Grady Capps and daughter-in-law, Sandra Davis Haynie.
Surviving are her two sons, Ronnie, and wife Pat and Fred Haynie.
Also surviving is her sister, Helen Ledford and brother, Charles Caldwell (Sally); sister-in-law, Lily Capps; grandchildren, Scott Haynie (Tonya) and Courtney Licklider (Patrick); great grandchildren, Logan and Zayde Haynie and Zachary and Jacob Licklider; step great grandchildren, Desitin Nash (Daniel) and Canaan Peek; great great grandson, Knox Haynie and step great great grandchildren Aidan and Camdan Nash. Other survivors include nieces and nephews.
Grace was a longtime member of Madison Seminary Baptist Church and retired from the Madison County Food Stamps office. She loved to read and quilt and many years ago was an expert seamstress. Grace also enjoyed visiting the local consignment shops on a regular basis.
A graveside service will be held at the Madison Seminary Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, January 18th, at 2:00 PM with Pastors Charlie Stanton and Dusty Black officiating.
In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be made to Madison Seminary Church Cemetery Fund; Pat McFee, PO Box 1029, Marshall, NC 28753.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Elderberry Health Care for taking good care of Grace for the past five years.
