Northrup
Asheville - Gregory Ralph Northrup, 73, of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, passed on October 24, 2013, in the arms of his wife with his daughter by his side at the Charles George VA Hospital, CLC2 in Oteen, NC.
He was born to the late Edna Burchill and Cecil Northrup on June 16, 1940. He married Patricia Ann Northrup on October 27, 1964. They had two daughters, Donna Lynn Northrup and Billie Jo Northrup Greene and one grandson, Bradley Hunter Greene, that he was so proud of.
Gregory came to the states in 1958 and in August 1963 he joined the United States Air Force until his retirement in September, 1985. At the time of his retirement he was the Superintendent of Pharmacy SMS NCOIC where he received two Meritorious Service Awards and was Cost Center Manager of the Year at Scott AFB in Belleville, IL. He then moved to Asheville, NC where he was employed for a short time with First Citizens Bank before he became disabled.
Gregory has two remaining brothers and a sister, Cecil Ann Mills all in Saint John NB, CA. He also has a niece, Tammy Price, and dear friends Carol and Greg Bordeau.
His family would like to thank the staff and patients at the Charles George VA Hospital CLC2 for their loving care and support of Gregory during his two year stay with them.
