Jacob Cory Obituary
Barnardsville - Jacob Christopher Cory, age 6, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
Jacob was always a compassionate, happy, smiling little boy who loved Curious George, trains, dinosaurs, dolphins and wrestling. He had just joined the 1st grade football team last year when he was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy, a rare genetic disease. Despite the diagnosis, Jacob continued to fight, smiling and laughing every day and singing in church on Sundays. He was a hero and an inspiration to everyone.
Jacob was the beloved son of Christopher and Andrea Cory. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents Aaron and Linda Cory, Rodger and Tina Monteith, and Belinda and Kevin Barnes, his great-grandparents Brenda and John Jones and Osie Ingle, and his 2 sisters Breanna and Sarah Cory. Also loving and missing him are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his great grandfathers John Ingle and Don Monteith.
Visitation will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, followed by a celebration of life service at 4:00 pm, at Mount Sheba Missionary Baptist Church, 870 New Stock Rd., Weaverville NC 28787.

Chris and Andrea, God bless and comfort you during this time. I, too watch my child in pain and could do nothing. I prayed for God's healing on this side of heaven, but he chose to heal her in heaven instead. There she will not hurt again. Take comfort in knowing Jacob will never hurt again. You're on our hearts and in our prayers. God bless you all.

There are no words to adequately express the deep sorrow I feel for your tragic and heartbreaking loss. Jacob was so young and so treasured, and at times like this life makes little sense. My heart aches for you, his tender sisters, loving grandparents, dear aunt and extended family, yet I am confident that little Jacob's spirit will live on in ways we cannot even imagine.
My heart goes out to you during this difficult time, and I earnestly pray that God comfort and hold you all close in His embrace.

Jacob was a beautiful little boy and I am honored to have known him and his amazing family. I am glad he is at peace but recognize he will be sorely missed. Jacob...you fought...and you won! Hugs to the whole Cory family.
