Kayla Hensley Obituary
Weaverville - Kayla Dezaray Hensley, 18, of Brinwood Drive passed away November 11, 2017.
She is survived by her mother, Susan Renee Maltry; step-father, Claude Henderson; brother, Claude Elden Henderson, II; step-sister, Angelena Avery; aunt, Rikki Renee Sealey and grandparents, Betty Turbyfill, Randy and Sandra Maltry, Donna Maltry and John Dykeman.
Kayla was the sunshine in many hearts who never knew a stranger. She had a strong will to overcome any obstacle in life that was handed to her. Not only was she a comfort to people but she inspired them. Kayla was an angel on earth for 18 years, she had to fly away but left an impression on all of our hearts.
The family will begin receiving friends at 12:30 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at North Buncombe First Church of God, 19 S. Main Street Ext., Weaverville, NC 28787. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Cantrell officiating.
Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent through the website, www.morrisfamilyfuneralhome.com.

I have a close friend whom was close to Kayla. She was not the same after her death and she is slowly coming back to normal but still cries from time to time. We passed the funeral on the way home from SC on Saturday. My family didn't know her in any way but my friend actually talked about her a lot.

My condolences to Kayla's family. Kayla was a light that shone so brightly when she visited me in the counseling office in the high school. She used to put her bag under my desk while she went visiting in the hallway in the morning. I recall Kayla talking lovingly about her dog and her grandparents. I will never forget the kindness she showed me and I hope that as time goes by her memories will be like sunshine to warm your heart and soul.
