Larry "Clay" Smith, Jr.

Asheville - Larry "Clay" Smith, Jr., 55, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2020.

Clay was born December 29, 1964 in Buncombe County. Since the age of 13, Clay has worked for his family's business, Silverman Company.

He is preceded in death by his father, Larry C. Smith, Sr. and grandmother, Nettie Silverman.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years, Angie Smith; daughter, Stephanie Brendell (Ken); mother and stepfather, Gloria and Roy Creasman; mother-in-law, Thelma Roberts; grandchildren, D'Shan, Kelly, Nikolas and Kailynn Brendell; brother, Sonny Smith (Diane); sister, Theresa Horne (Ronnie); numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate his life at a private ceremony.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at 33 Patton Place, Asheville, NC 28805.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Shriners Children Hospital or The Danny Thomas Foundation at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
