MARK ALAN

RICKARDS

PISGAH FOREST - Mark Alan Rickards, 55, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was a graduate of Brevard High School and Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa. He also attended the University of NC Greensboro.

Mark loved animals and enjoyed camping, hiking and gardening. He was an all around handyman and thought the world of his two daughters. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Mark is survived by his former wife, Sandy Rickards of Pisgah Forest; his daughters, Jamie and Krista Rickards of Pisgah Forest; his brothers; James Rickards of Kernersville, N.C. and David Rickards of Brevard; his sister; Becky Hines of Wilmington, N.C.; his nieces and nephews, Nancy, Heather, Patrick, Joseph and Jacob.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at "Pinkbeds" in the Pisgah National Forest.
