Marsha Lyn Ring

Charlotte - Marsha Lyn Ring, 59, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully at her home in Charlotte on June 8, 2017.

Marsha was born in Charlotte on April 27, 1958. She graduated from Charlotte West High School, and continued on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University. Marsha was licensed by the North Carolina Psychology Board as Psychological Associate.

Marsha worked as a Psychologist for her entire career, rising from staff psychologist to eventually becoming the Director of Clinical Operations for the Western Highlands Network, an Asheville based Behavioral health Managed Care Organization responsible for an 8 county, $169 Million budget. Additionally Marsha attained industry recognized results in developing and directing outpatient services for high risk service populations. Her professional achievements were many, including multiple publications, appointments and consultancies both in the Unites States and abroad. Marsha enjoyed all things Irish, Xena Warrior princess, Wonder Woman, softball and good cigars. Her intelligence, sense of humor and loyalty were unparalleled and undoubtedly contributed to her manifold professional successes and the extraordinary number of lives she impacted both personally and professionally.

Marsha leaves behind her beloved wife, Margaret "Maggie" Barnett, her cherished daughter, Eyrie Sandland, her son-in-law Johnny Evans, her brother, Howard Anthony "Tony" Ring and her nephew Tyler Ring. Additionally Marsha leaves behind a large extended family in the United States and Ireland, and many friends who consider themselves family. Marsha is preceded in death by her loving parents, Alice Imogene Ring (nee Henslee) and Howard Marshall Ring.

Family, friends and others whose lives Marsha touched are invited to join us at her Memorial Service on Sunday June 18, 2017 at 11 am at the Wedgewood Church in Charlotte, or at her celebration of life on Sunday June 25, 2017 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Altamount Theatre in Asheville, NC. Arrangements are being handled by Boston's Mortuary of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to The ACLU of North Carolina, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the Carolinas Healthcare Foundation or Wedgewood Church of Charlotte, NC.
