Robert Jenkins Obituary

Robert Jenkins

Fairview - Robert Marlen Jenkins, 87, of Old Fort Road, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Jenkins was the Supervisor at Maier's Greenhouse in Fairview, as well as a partner in Cedar Cliff Grocery for many years. He was the son of the late William Henry and Myrtle Chatham Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Grace Gaddy Jenkins, who passed away June 8, 2012; sister, Sue Garrison; and brother, Guy Jenkins.

Surviving are his sons: James Jenkins and wife Shirley of Candler and Richard Jenkins of Fairview; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers: Ray and Ralph Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Renee Wright, Sonya Early, Letha Howie and Noel Edwards, caregivers who became family during the recent months.
