Alexander Dubeck Obituary

Alexander John Dubeck, 74, of Dupont, died Tuesday evening in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.

He was born in Dupont, son of the late Alexander and Sophie Jean Mihalka Dubeck, was a graduate of the West Pittson High School, Class of 1965, and he attended Wilkes College.

He was a member of the Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, Dupont, the Fraternal Order of DeMolay and a lifelong supporter of the Masonic Order. He was Worshipful Master of his lodge four times.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was a department manager at the Avoca Acme; manager of Parish Optical, Wilkes-Barre and the Dupont Borough Secretary for many years. He was also a group manager for a Scranton collection agency.

Surviving are a brother Joseph F. and wife Suzanne, Clarksville, Tenn.; nephew Joseph; nieces Jamie Lynn and Nicole; great-niece, Marianna and great-nephews, Jaden and Alex.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Lokuta-Zawacki Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Mother of Sorrows Church, 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, to be celebrated by the Very Rev. Zbigniew Dawid. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
