Amelia Macho Obituary

Amelia (Millie) Macho of Wilkes-Barre passed away Wednesday morning in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Helen Petro Barna. She was educated in Wilkes-Barre Area schools. She was employed for 45 years by the valley garment industry.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, and was a member of its choir.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Anna, Helen and Margaret.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Joseph, George and Leonard.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph, with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 7, 2008. She is also survived by sisters, Bernadine Serafin, Wilkes-Barre; and Agnes Boshá and her husband, Eugene, Wilkes-Barre; and a brother, Nicholas and his wife, Lillian, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
