Ann Forlenza Obituary

Ann C. Forlenza passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in Serenity Gardens at Wesley Village, where she had been a resident for the past three and a half years.

Ann was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Dunnigan Forlenza. She was born and raised in Pittston and attended St. Mary's Assumption School and graduated from Pittston High School, where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad.

She was employed as a bookkeeper at Del Mar Sportswear, Pittston, and was last employed in the medical records department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Ann studied ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Studios in New York City and later became an instructor of dance at the Arthur Murray Studio in Scranton for many years. She was a beautiful dancer and loved teaching the art of ballroom dancing. She had a personality that led her to acquire many friends throughout her teaching years.

Ann was a great animal lover and contributed generously to various animal preservation causes.

She is survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Verna Forlenza, Plains Twp.; and her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dr. Dominick Stuccio, Pittston Twp. She also leaves behind her dear and devoted cousin, Ann Petrikonas, San Diego, Calif.; her close friend of many years, Marlene Kapalka, West Wyoming; and several cousins.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of Ann's caregivers at Wesley Village, especially Ann Marie, Gloria and Jenna, whose kindness and compassion will long be remembered.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston, celebrated by the Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J.

Donations, if so desired, may be made in Ann's memory to the Luzerne County SPCA or the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, Pittstion.
