Ann R. Kempter, 79, of Collegeville, and formerly of Pittston and Scranton, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Meadowood Retirement Community, Worchester.
Born on March 27, 1945, in Pittston, Nan was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Kathryn A. Jordan Kane. She graduated from St. John the Evangelist, Pittston, and attended Lackawanna College. Prior to her retirement, she worked for over 25 years at Northeastern Eye Institute.
Nan enjoyed reading, crocheting/crewel and actively served as an intercessory prayer petitioner.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Ozark (Chris), Collegeville; two sisters, Kathryn Kane and Mary Agnes Kane; a brother, James Kane; and a niece, Danielle Kane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Kurt Kempter.
The funeral will be held Saturday from the Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, 575 N. Main St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, formerly St. Mary, Help of Christians, Pittston. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Family of Nan I have only known Nan the last 10 years threw her dearest and best friend Lois I was honored to have shared some time with Nan because of Lois we had many laughs together we shared a gift of being prayer petitioners I loved hearing the stories that Loey and Nan shared with me about growing up together and all of their stories may this lovely lady be at peace in the arms of our Lord Tish Capristo

Kathleen, I´m so sorry to hear of your mother´s passing. I enjoyed spending time with her and Lois. I took her for her eye appointments etc. She was a lovely lady. God rest her soul.
