Anna Mae Grajewski, 90, of Huntington Mills, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Emmanuel Center, Sunset Lane, Danville.
Born in Exeter, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Zavada Latzko. On Nov. 8, 1958, Anna married John Grajewski, and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage before his death on Dec. 3, 2021.
She was a 1951 graduate of Exeter High School. Prior to marriage, she worked for the Wilkes-Barre Water Company. She also worked for Berwick Industries from 1977 until her retirement in 2004.
Anna was a member of Holy Spirit Parish/St. Martha's Church, Fairmount Springs.
She enjoyed time with her family. Anna enjoyed completing the New York Times crossword puzzles and, surprisingly, was quite the Game Boy enthusiast for many years starting with the original Mario and Zelda. Anna knitted many sweaters and crocheted numerous afghans for the family as well as donating many blankets to the afghan bingo at St. Martha's Church. She read more books in her lifetime than most people could imagine.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Paul Latzko.
Surviving are six children, Robert Grajewski and his wife, Susan Garing, Kirkwood, N.Y.; Janet Tooley and her husband, Bill, Rock Hill, S.C.; Donna Grattan and her husband, Regis, Shickshinny; Susan Grajewski, Woodbury, N.J.; Joanne Osborne and her husband, Jeff, Mifflinville; and Maria Grajewski and her husband, Scott Cox, Warriors Mark; one brother, Michael Latzko, West Wyoming; 12 grandchildren, Caitlyn Bagwell, Christopher Tooley, Rachel Minor, Becca Woodring, Jessica Tooley, Theodore Grajewski, Tommy Burns, Julia Dowell, Teagan Grattan, Connor Grattan, Megan Hargraves and Bryson Osborne; six great-grandchildren, Jack and Quinn Bagwell, Max and Lainey Minor, Romy and Baker Woodring; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Parish/St. Martha's, 260 Bonnieville Road, Fairmount Springs, with the Rev. Louis Kaminski, her pastor, officiating as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Martha's Cemetery, Fairmount Springs.
The family would like to thank the staff at Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick and Emmanuel Hospice for their kind care of our mother.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that a memorial donation in Anna's name be made to Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick, 1409 N. Market St., Suite 202, Berwick, PA 18603; or to Emmanuel Center, Sunset Lane, 11 Schoolhouse Road, Danville, PA 17821.
