Anthony Joseph Lizza, "Butch," of Yatesville passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre, at the age of 84.
Anthony was born in Yatesville to Placido Lizza and Christine Naples on Dec. 12, 1936. He went to school at Jenkins High School and served in the Army National Guard.
He married the love of his life of 60 years, Bernadine Virginia Magdalinski Lizza on Sept. 23, 1961. After retiring from Leslie Fay, where he worked for 25 years, he had the pleasure to work at the side of his two sons, James and Christopher, at Lizza's East Side Auto, Plains Twp.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Placido Lizza; mother, Christine Naples Lizza; brother, Ralph Lizza; brother, Samuel Lizza; sister, Carmella Stefanelli; sister, Jeanette Carone; sister, Anna Lizza; sister, Dora Lercara; and brother, Joseph Lizza.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine Lizza; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Lizza and Olga Kuhay Lizza; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna LaBar Lizza; son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Wincek Lizza; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Teresa (LoBrutto) Lizza; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Russell Bowen; grandchildren, Briana Lizza, AJ Lizza, Natalie Lizza, James Lizza, Ariana Lizza, Sam Lizza, Carlena Lizza, Sophia Lizza; Nathan Bowen, Benjamin Bowen, Lucas Bowen; great-grandchildren, James Rail IV; Laylah McClellan; Avery Rail; Adeline Rail; Jackie Rail; Layne Toomey; and Jhett Rail; brother and sister-in-law, Placido and Karen Lizza; and several nieces and nephews.
A private viewing and funeral services will be held for immediate family members.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Pittston, with all arrangements made by Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp.
