Arthur Ravaioli Obituary

Arthur P. Ravaioli, 85, of Old Forge, died Sunday evening, July 2, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

His wife, Frances Castellani Ravaioli, preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2012.

Born and raised in West Scranton, son of the late Arthur and Rose Augelli Ravaioli, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Art held a management position at the Hillcrest Lampshade Factory for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a devoted member of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Forge.

He enjoyed his many hobbies, which included baseball in his younger years, golf, supporting the Philadelphia Phillies, and most importantly, watching his grandson, Nieko, play baseball and ice hockey. He would proudly proclaim that he was fortunate to have had two "holes in one" at Pine Hills Golf Course. Art was also musically gifted and had his own bands and was involved in others over the years, "Phase Four," "The Innkeepers," and "Perfect Measure." He even made his own record and also played for "The Gospel Messengers."

His family wishes to acknowledge the staff of Giesinger PCU at both CMC and Wyoming Valley hospitals, all of his physicians, and the staff of the rehab portion of Wesley Village for the meticulous and unwavering care that Art received.

Surviving are a son, Brian Ravaioli (wife, Stephanie); daughter, Lisa Kossuth (husband, Bill); and grandson, Nieko Ravaioli, all of Old Forge; two brothers, Albert Ravaioli (wife, Charlotte) of Dalton and Robert Ravaioli (wife, Chrissy) of Scranton; and nieces, Maria, Trinka, Maggie, Selena and Andrea.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, 174 N. Main St., Old Forge, with services by the Rev. Michael Shambora, pastor, and the Rev. Norm Demming. Interment will be private. Those planning to attend are asked to proceed directly to the church on Saturday.

Relatives and friends are invited to a public viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge.

Lisa & Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of your father. We remember sharing laughs, good conversation, and drinks with him at the Penalty Box many years ago. Paul played golf with your Dad and said he was a "Good Good Guy!" He will be missed but God Bless him as heaven welcomes a talented musician! Play those drums for all to hear! Peace. I will always remember Art as an excellent musician and fun person to be with. He played drums in my band the innkeepers for about four years and we had many good times together. We have lost exceptional an exceptional musician in person. Much love to you wherever you are my dear friend.
