Bernadine Heiser Obituary

Bernadine L. Heiser, 87, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life early Monday morning, March 15, 2021, at Allied Hospice-Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, following a brief illness.

Her beloved husband was the late Charles G. Heiser, who passed away Sept. 6, 2011. Together, Charles and Bernadine shared 51 beautiful years of marriage.

Born Aug. 5, 1933, in Kingston, Bernadine was one of three children born to the late John and Anna Shedlarski Hoosic.

Raised in Swoyersville, Bernadine was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1951.

A dedicated homemaker most of her life, Bernadine lovingly tended to the daily needs of her family. In her earlier years, she was employed by the former Circle Dry Cleaners, Forty Fort, and also by Commercial Credit, Maryland.

Bernadine was a faithful Catholic and a life member of the former St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. Additionally, she was a past member of the former Swoyersville Lions Club.

A woman of many enjoyments, Bernadine especially enjoyed spending time at her family hunting cabin in Susquehanna County, where she loved fishing with her husband and family.

Family was the center of Bernadine's life and she cherished every moment she had with her loved ones. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and each of them held a special place in her heart. Although her presence will be greatly missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, John and Anna Hoosic, and her husband, Charles, Bernadine was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Hoosic and John Hoosic.

Bernadine is survived by her three children, Charles Heiser and his fiancée, Mary Ellen Riley, Swoyersville; Mary Ann Burgio and her husband, Anthony, Harveys Lake; and Rose Kalinowski and her husband, David, Mountain Top; her five grandchildren, Pamela Staff and her husband, Jeff, South Carolina; Darren Heiser and his wife, Jia, Dallas; Stephanie Evans and her husband, Dan, Forty Fort; Samantha Burgio, Harveys Lake; and Lauren Rose Kalinowski, Mountain Top; her two great-granddaughters, Arabella and Amiya Heiser; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday from Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her pastor, officiating.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
