Bernard Pirillo, 82, of White Haven., affectionately known as "Bernie" and "Bennie" to many, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at Gino J. Merli Veteran's Center, Scranton.
Funeral arrangements are pending from Bednarski Funeral Home, Wyoming.

It's not mentioned in the obituary that Bernie worked at Pomeroy's store on public square in Wilkes-barre where he was my boss in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
He was a great boss...always a fair guy.

"A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today." Bernard, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
