Beverly Consenza, 75, of West Pittston, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor Yanchis Payne and was a graduate of Northeast High School.
Beverly was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.
After high school she attended nursing school and worked at Manor Care, Kingston.
Beverly was happily married for 56 years. She got her love of plants from her father and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her specialty was cooking and she always had a big Christmas Eve dinner for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 2020.
Beverly is survived by her children, Amy Thomas and her husband, Jim; Lorrie Consenza; Dina Consenza; and Eugene Consenza and wife, Michelle; brother, William Payne and wife, Susan; sister, Karen Wordsworth and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Matthew Thomas and wife, Rebecca; Cassandra Consenza; Shelby Thomas and fiancé, Andrew; Billy Thomas; nephews, Eric Johnston and wife, Bridget; and son, Blake Johnston; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Lenny Holmes.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, with Monsignor John Sempa officiating. Interment with the Rite of Committal will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Twp. Family and friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family has asked that everyone attending the viewing and Mass to please wear a facial covering.
