Carol Ann Mizin Leoni, 73, formerly of West Wyoming, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of Olga Bunevich Mizin and the late John Mizin. She was a graduate of West Wyoming High School and Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing, and worked for many years compassionately caring for elderly patients as a registered nurse.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Geno Leoni; her children, Christine Metcalf and husband, Robert, Virginia; Gina Becerra and husband, Ramon, Indiana; and Gino Leoni and wife, Maureen, Arizona; and brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, John and Silvia Metcalf.
Carol was formerly a member of St. Monica's Parish, West Wyoming, and found fellowship in a spiritual community after she moved to Indiana. She loved music and daisies, spending time with her family and friends and being "Grammie" to her grandchildren and grand dogs.
A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Wyoming, with the Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Wyoming.
The family would like to thank Visiting Nurses of Fort Wayne and all of the Golden Years Homestead nurses and aides for the wonderful care they provided during the final stages of Carol's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Penn FTD Center, https://www.med.upenn.edu/ftd/, which provides research, care and support for early-onset frontotemporal degeneration spectrum disorders, or the West Wyoming Fire Department.

So sorry to hear about Mrs. Leoni s passing. She was such a wonderful person. She was always there through our childhood. Mini football/cheer, church, parades and bazaars. She was so proud of her kids. She was a second mom to Andrea. The last time I saw her was at my wedding. She had a wonderful time. I remember her always smiling. Keep all your memories close. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
