Charles A. "Chuck" Amato, 79, formerly of Wyoming, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at Kingston Health Care Center.
Born in Swoyersville, Sept. 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Luciano "Charles" and Margaret Mahalick Amato.
Chuck was a graduate of West Wyoming High School and served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. After 50 years, he retired as a plant manager from Fortune Fabrics, Swoyersville.
Chuck was hard worker and a devoted family man. He was an avid Penn State football fan. He enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, along with just simply sitting with family and friends playing cards and laughing. Visits from family and friends meant the world to him.
His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Kingston Health Care Center for their excellent care, support and compassion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Antoinette "Nettie" Dominick Amato.
Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Hill, Forty Fort; and Janine Dzanko (Charles), Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren, Leonard Brunza III and his fiancée, Marissa Janesko, Dunmore; Carla Pereida (Michael), Harding; Charles A. "Chad" Dzanko, Annapolis, Md.; great-grandchildren, Alexa Pereida and Gianna Pereida; brother, Anthony Amato, Evans, Ga.; sisters, Nina Kovacs (Bernard), West Wyoming; and Diane Amato, Upper Gwynedd; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with a Blessing Service at 7 p.m. at Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William St., Pittston. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
