Claire Bohan Obituary
Claire was predeceased by her parents, James and Madge Murphy, Hughestown; brothers, Jack, Thomas and Paul; sister, Sally Callahan; brothers-in-law, Leo Moran and Jack Callahan; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Murphy.
Claire is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward "Ned"; sons, Michael (Mary Frances), Robbinsville, N.J.; Daniel (Elise), Fayetteville, N.Y.; and Edward (Lynne), Swampscott, Mass.; six grandchildren, Bridget, Evan, Brenna, Sean, Katelyn and Faye; brother, James (Lorraine); sister, Mary Ellen; sister-in-law, Maureen Murphy; and 27 nieces and nephews.
Claire requested it be known that she had a wonderful life. Claire was generous, loving, lighthearted and happy. She was proud of her Irish heritage, her marriage, her dedication to the Catholic Church, and her children and grandchildren. Claire loved to host friends and family, volunteer and golf. She never had a bad golf game (although she never kept score). She found great happiness in spending time with family and friends at their lake house in Brackney and at Windmill Village in Jensen Beach, Fla. Claire will be forever in our hearts and remembered for her practical jokes, her love of college sports, her family's favorite recipes and her willingness to open her heart and home to anyone who needed love, support, a laugh or a prayer. For this reason, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, please pay it forward and perform an act of kindness in her honor. May our memories of Claire, and the love given and received, fill our hearts with the incredible joy she felt for life and long live that beauty that comes down, through, and onto all of us always.
A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Augustine's Church, Church Road, Brackney, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y., from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Claire and I loved to line dance...especially to NY,NY...play golf and bridge...and talk! We became friends in Florida and were always finding times to get together with the gang. She upheld our family quote, "Pick out the good in others and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away."
Laughing was our glue. Bing and I are better people because of Claire and Ned.

I had the privilege of meeting Claire for the first time this year when I played golf at Tall Pines on the Thursday night league. She was such a ray of Sunshine and made me laugh the entire night that I golfed with her. I wish I knew her for a longer period of time because she was just one of those people that always could put a smile on your face and make you realize how wonderful life is and make you want to live life to its fullest. She will be sadly missed. My condolences to the entire family and especially her loving husband and children who she spoke so fondly.

Ned, Ed, Lynne , Katie, Faye, Michael, Daniel and all the Bohan Family, my deepest, heartfelt condolences, my heart breaks with yours. I grieve emotionally even while taking comfort in knowing she still lives beyond our reach knowing that she is home safe with her Savior ...but for now, the acute awareness of her absence is what all must contend with; how big a space she filled because she allowed God's love to fill her! She accepted everyone! Love, kindness and joy was always flowing out of her. It was something special watching her be a Grandmother to her Grandchildren. I can only imagine the void that has been left...one that no one else could fill! She will be greatly missed..
