Jeanne Bohan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford Family Funeral & Cremation Service - Edmond on Mar. 6, 2026.
On Thursday, March 5th, 2026, Jeanne Marie (Rooker) Bohan passed away at the age of 70. Jeanne was born in Abilene, Texas on August 11th, 1955, to Marlyn and Marjorie Rooker. She graduated from Midland High School in 1973 and completed her Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising at Texas Tech University in 1977. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Newman University in 2003. Jeanne worked in retail and retail management before holding various positions in accounting and bookkeeping, as well as working as a grants manager for the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma. She continued work until her passing as an account assistant.

A lifelong Catholic, Jeanne's faith was the center of her life. It brought her great joy to serve her parishes in many roles, some of which include RCIA Director, Adult Faith Enrichment Coordinator, Youth Group chaperone, Catholic Charities Parish Liaison, bell choir member, Eucharistic Minister, usher, Pastoral Council member, and lector. Jeanne served her community with joy and would regularly be seen at volunteer parish work days, cleaning the rectory, and leading many various bible studies. She led countless people to the Church and truly lived out her faith in every aspect of her life.

Jeanne loved traveling, playing the piano, music, good food, coffee, dancing, reading, and celebrating her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She loved sharing family holiday traditions like singing Christmas carols around the piano and animated games of left-right-center. Jeanne loved the show, The Chosen, and even appeared as an extra in the series. She also made the world's best cream cheese kolaches. She cherished spending time with her family and friends and always knew how to make people feel special and loved. Despite the many trials and suffering she faced, she remained steadfast in her faith until the very end and was a beautiful witness of what living out the Gospel truly means. She will be so dearly missed, but we are thankful and at peace knowing she has now found true happiness in eternal life.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Bohan Jr. and her father, Marlyn Rooker. She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Rooker, her son and daughter, David Manaugh and wife Violet and Melissa Schmitz and husband Everett; grandchildren Amnethyst, Bradley, and Dexter Manaugh, Zeke and Isaiah Benoit, Madeline, Abby, Finn, Blake, and Jack Schmitz. She is also survived by her sister and brothers, Karen Rachal and her husband Lindy, David Rooker and his wife Kathy, Chris Rooker and his wife Laura as well as nieces and nephews Garrett, Matthew, Aubrey, Emily, Natalie, Caleb, Emma and Elizabeth and their spouses and children.

A rosary will take place at 6:00pm on Thursday, March 12th at Crawford Funeral Service, 610 NW 178th St, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 13 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 2400 West Hefner Road in The Village, Oklahoma. Burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 West Britton Rd, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
