David Evans Obituary
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 18, 1997, a son of David and Dawn Loftus Evans of Hanover Township.
David was a Junior student at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, where he played football.
David was a well-liked and friendly boy with a big heart. He spent most of his time with friends enjoying music. David aspired to be a writer and would spend countless hours practicing.
He was a member of the Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Evans.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his sister, Morgan Evans; faithful Golden Retriever, Goldie; maternal grandparents, Donald and Judith Loftus; paternal grandfather, David R. Evans; uncle and aunt, Timothy and Heather Lavelle; aunt and godmother, Kathleen Evans; cousin, T.J. Lavelle; godmother, Carol Keup; and numerous great-aunts, uncles and second cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Joseph P. Elston, chaplain of Holy Redeemer High School will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
David's family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Scholarship Fund at Holy Redeemer High School, 159 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.

My heart goes out to your and your family. I did not know your son personally. I too am a mother who's child born in 1997 was taken too soon. Mine when she was 15 1/2.
