David Moore Jr., 74, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Born Nov. 28, 1947, he was the son of the late David and Mary Pettigrew Moore.
David was born and raised on James Island, S.C. A 1967 graduate of W. Gresham Meggett High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after and served in the Vietnam War as a communications specialist. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Vietnam as a civilian contractor in communications for some time. David then went on to work as a crew foreman in construction for over 30 years. He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan who enjoyed laughing, spending time with family and friends and a good game of chess.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sons, Clifford Campbell and Jamar Moore; grandson, Deion Rinaldi; and brother, Bernard Moore.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Brian Krum (Stephanie); David Moore III; Selena Hughes; Kathy Moore; and Katrina Frazier (Samuel); siblings, Prince Iven Pettigrew (Katherine); Carleen Washington (Matthew); JoAnn Warner (Herman); Alice Hood (the Rev. Joseph); Nathaniel Moore (Paula); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Date, time and location of a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Arragements were entrusted to Cremation Specialist of Pennsylvania, 728 Main St., Avoca.
