Dillard. Holland Obituary

Dillard A. Holland, age 87, of Granbury and formerly of Midland and Brownwood, died Monday night at his home in Granbury. Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Glenn Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home Mr. Holland was born October 16, 1922 in the Buffalo community in Coleman Co-unty, the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Green Holland. He attended Howard Payne College and served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Irene Allgood in Brownwood on December 24, 1948. She preceded him in death in 2009. He worked as branch manager for Weakley-Watson's in Midland, Texas and later for Morrison Supply. He has lived in Granbury since 1984 and served as the Chief of Security at Pecan Plantation Estates on Lake Granbury. He was a member of the Acton Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Craig Holland and his wife Robin of Midland; a daughter, Deborah Holland of Granbury; 2 brothers, Rex Holland of Midland, Will-burn Holland of Brown-wood; 2 sisters, Wanda Jean Middleton of White Settlement, Joyce Dunn of Brandon, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Camber Allison Holland of Midland, Brandon Holland of Granbury, Randall Boiles of Benbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 4 brothers, Wayne, Aubrey, Lonnie Merle, and Ralph Dee (Buddy) Holland and a sister, Rita Fay Holland.
