Edward William Koppenhofer passed away unexpectedly with his wife by his side in Inkerman on Thursday morning, Oct. 29, 2020, at 83 years old.
Edward is survived by wife, Marion Wolfe Koppenhofer, Inkerman; children, William Koppenhofer, Inkerman; David Koppenhofer and wife, Madhel Koppenhofer; Roy Washington; Scott Koppenhofer and wife, Dawn Koppenhofer, Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Grace Koppenhofer, Orlando, Fla.; and grandchildren, Edward Daniel Washington; Dawn Marie Ragukas; Jasmine Rosemarie Koppenhofer.
Edward is preceded in death by mother, Claire Olive Koppenhofer, Geneva, Fla.; father, William Koppenhofer, Geneva, Fla.; and brother, Charles Albert Koppenhofer, Geneva, Fla.
Edward was born Sept. 5, 1937, in College Point, N.Y. He worked and lived in New York and Pennsylvania as a mechanic, welder and fabricator in the manufacturing industry and became a maintenance superintendent in multiple industries and retired as facility manager of Queens Surface Corp., Queens, N.Y. He retired to Florida with his wife, Marion, for 15 years and then settled back in Pennsylvania for retirement.
Edward was an accomplished welder and fabricator and often shared his talent with others through training them for free and by helping them by doing projects at no cost. He was generous, big hearted and a mountain of a man. Ed was loved and admired by all who knew him. He enjoyed watching drag racing, history channels and anything that dealt with mechanics. He had a love for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a prior member and president of the Queensboro Motorcycle Club in the 1950s. He was a member and a past commander of the Sons of the Legion and was a member of VFW Post 2093 in Orlando, Fla.
There will be no service held and there will be an inurnment of Edward's remains upon cremation at Chapel Lawn Cemetery where his wife and children will attend in private.

Edward worked hard his entire life as a blue collar worker and was a firm believer in working in the trades versus college.

Marion you and I went to school; together and I worked with ED in the plastic factory in Mount Top and I am sad about hearing about ED My prayers go out to you and your family.
