Eric M. Sutter, 37, of Harding, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, unexpectedly at home.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of Glen Sutter and the late Shirley Nocek Sutter and was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 2004. Eric was a member of Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Redeemer Church), Harding.
After high school, Eric attended the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y. He was employed by RK Hydro-vac, Pittston; and PennDOT.
When he was a young man, Eric was a member of the Boy Scouts in Exeter Twp. Eric also played baseball for the West Pittston Little League and was selected as an all-star member each year he played. He was a star running back for the West Pittston Rams. In high school, he took up ice hockey and track and field.
He loved snowboarding, golfing, fishing and traveling with his family on Knoebels family camping trips, beach trips, family cruises and Disney World vacations. Eric enjoyed cookouts, movie nights and especially family gatherings during the holidays. Eric was a loving father to his two boys and loved spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley, in July 2022; maternal grandparents, Carl Nocek, in May 2022, and Eileen Nocek, in April 1980; paternal grandmother, Mildred Sutter, in April 2022.
Eric is survived by his sons, Gavyn and Wyatt Sutter; father, Glen, Harding; sister, Tracey Cebula and husband, Joseph, Falls; brother, Shawn and wife, Nikou, Drums; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday in Holy Redeemer Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 2435 State Route 92, Harding, with Monsignor John Sempa as the celebrant. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Eric from 10 a.m. to service time.

Donations may be made at the UFCW, 46 S. Main St., Pittston, in the name of his sons Wyatt and Gavyn Sutter.
