Eugene J. Gavin Jr., 69, sadly passed Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at his home he shared with his wife in Waldorf, Md.
Eugene J. Gavin Jr. was born May 5, 1952 in the beautiful hills of Plains Twp. Eugene was the eldest son of parents Geniveve Gavin and Eugene J. Gavin Sr.
He is survived by his siblings, Carol and brother-in-law, Vincent Kopec; Richard Gavin; Gerald and sister-in-law, Susan Gavin; and Wayne and sister-in-law, Peggy Gavin; his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Skillens Gavin; his children, Korie E. Gavin; and KeriAnn and son-in-law, Blaine Slacum; and his grandchildren, Colin Gavin, Tierney Tinsley, Summer Slacum, Grace Slacum, Madison Tinsley, Jeremy Tinsley and Dakota Slacum.
Eugene served in the Air Force for seven years. Following his military career, he was the proud business owner of a tax accounting and financial planning company for more than 28 years, diligently servicing the Southern Maryland area. He spent his free time on the 18-hole greens as an avid golfer and frequented the American Legion. Gene was a die-hard Steelers and Mets fan during his lifetime. He touched his community in a positive light and will be missed by many.
Services will be held for Gene from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp.
