Everett "Rhett" J. Davis, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore Md. with his family by his side.
Born in Kingston, January 22, 1975, Rhett was the son of Everett J. Davis and the late Carol Ann Frace Davis.
A lifelong resident of Kingston, Rhett was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School where he excelled in soccer, basketball and baseball. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Penn State University, State College, and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Wilkes University.
A certified public accountant he was the founder and owner of Davis Accounting and Consulting LLC., located in Forty-Fort.
Rhett was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Kingston.
Rhett could often be seen cheering on his beloved Penn State Nittany Lions football team, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers and the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team, the latter providing a lifelong rivalry with his sister, Beth, who is a Duke fan.
Rhett had an infectious sense of humor, which he always had ready to deliver a funny jab. If anyone was the target of Rhett's humor, know that you are a person he held in high esteem, and you occupied a place in his heart. Wherever Rhett was, laughter was sure to follow.
His family and friends have countless stories that bring smiles to faces, and bellyaching laughs with Rhett at the center. His, laugh, smile and humor will be missed by many.
Above all else, most important in Rhett's life were his family and friends. Rhett and his former wife, Terri, shared three beautiful daughters; Bea, Ally, and Anne, and he loved them dearly. They were the absolute center of his world putting smiles on his face and inheriting his sense of humor. Those that knew Rhett the most, knew that nothing in his life brought him more joy, pride and love than his girls. He never missed a soccer game, swim meet or dance recital. If it was important to his girls, it was important to him. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments.
In January 2020, Rhett began a loving relationship with Erica Altavilla. Rhett and Erica lived their lives together to the fullest. They had a love that most people could only dream of having. They were the best of friends, they complimented and completed each other. Rhett would often tell Erica that she was the female version of himself. Rhett and Erica were planning their wedding on September 13, 2025. Along with Rhett's girls, they were very much looking forward to a new life together and making memories.
Rhett was the center of a group of friends that formed in grade school and continued to be the closest of friends to this day. In their youth, many of his friends seemingly spent more time at Rhett's house than they did at their own, always being welcomed, always being treated like family. They formed a lifelong bond that cannot be broken, and they will continue Rhett's legacy of creating laughs for others by sharing his story with all willing to listen.
Due to a rare blood disorder, Rhett was the recipient of two lifesaving organ transplants, adding years to his life, and allowing countless memories with his family and friends.
Along with his father, three daughters and fiancé, Rhett is survived by his sister, Beth Davis Weaver and her companion, John Mislan; nephew, Davis Weaver; and his pet dogs, Piper and Nala.
Organ donation is a cause that is very dear to Rhett's family. The family asks everyone to consider becoming an organ donor. Memorial contributions in Rhett's name may be made to NORD; The National Organization of Rare Disorders; 1900 Crown Colony Drive, Suite #310, Quincy, Mass. 02169.
