John C. "Jack" Kropp, 65, of Shavertown, passed away from cardiac arrest Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Bernice Finn and Richard Kropp. He grew up in the Toy Town section of West Wyoming and graduated from Wyoming Area High School. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park. Jack returned to the Wyoming Valley and began his professional years working for a few local businesses and eventually starting his own landscaping company, which he grew and led for many years.
Jack married the former Sylvia Santarelli, gained a daughter, Alexis, and fathered two additional daughters, Madeline and Caroline. Years later, his beloved bichon, Bliss, completed his family. Jack worked endlessly to provide his family with love, laughter and optimism.
Jack was a part of the community for 23 years and led a life dedicated to helping others. Most recently, serving as one of the driving forces behind ClearVision Health and Wellness, Hazleton, and the host of a local radio program called Sharing Recovery Radio. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in service and fellowship and he always believed that no matter what, God had a plan. His family will trust that plan as they move forward without him.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his grandson, Oh Harris Kwon; his in-laws, Sesto and Irene Santarelli.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia, Shavertown; Alexis Kropp-Kwon and husband, Young-Nam, Dallas; Madeline Kropp and Patrick Foley, Dallas; Caroline Kropp and her cats, Zeus and Lil' Tune, Shavertown; grandson, Oh Anderson Kwon; and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, funeral services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in Jack's name to the Luzerne Foundation, 34 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
