Jonathan Gilpin, 35, of West Pittston, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022.
Born Jan. 29, 1987, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Mary Patricia Fino Belles and Roger Belles.
Jonathan was a graduate of Chancellor High School, Fredericksburg, Va. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a forklift operator for U.S. Hydrations.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Fino; grandmother, Louise Belles; grandmother, Francine Gilpin; aunt, Mary Ann Fino; cousin, Patrick Wolak; and great-aunts and great-uncles.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Tanya Macareo; daughter, Lydia Argentina Gilpin; grandmother, Judith Louise Fino, West Pittston; mother-in-law, Peggy Macareo, Pittston Twp.; brother-in-law, Joseph Macareo and his wife, Samantha, Yatesville; aunt and godmother, Alice Fino Ewonishon, Uniondale; aunts, Dr. Mary Sue Fino Szumski and her husband, Conrad, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; Dr. Marsha Fino Lobo and her husband, Dr. Ronald, Wexford; uncle and godfather, Marvin Gilpin, West Pittston; and numerous cousins whom he considered his sisters and brothers.
Jonathan loved spending every day with his wife, daughter, grandmother and godmother and always looked forward to time with his parents when they were in town. He enjoyed the times when his entire family was together. Jonathan often cared for his fur-sister, Jenny and fur-cousin, Shiloh and was the perfect father to his fur-daughter, Ariel, prior to her passing. He was the person who shined without asking for the spotlight. He worked hard to help all who needed him with any task. He has provided many lasting memories in a very short time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
