Joseph Linker, 78, of Kingston, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Joe was the son of the late Henry and Catherine Hogan Linker.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Joe was also a longtime member of Franklin Hose Company, Edwardsville. His membership spanned over 50 years, where he served as both captain and past president. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Luzerne Knights of Columbus, a member of the Larksville American Legion and served with the Edwardsville Police Department.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre, serving as a Sacristan Eucharistic minister.
Surviving are his children, Karen Gabriel (Brandon), Plymouth Twp.; Don Linker (Cory), Nanticoke; and Denise Ricci (John), Illinois; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Yourglivch, Wilkes-Barre; Denise DeLong (Larry), Montrose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a son, Joseph Linker Jr.; sisters, Marilyn Klack; and Charlotte Tonkin; brothers, William Linker, Delbert Linker, James Konrade, Henry Linker and Donald Linker.
Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Monday from Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Vincent Dang will serve as officiant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday.
