Juan Cruz Sr., 91, of Bear Creek, passed into eternal rest Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from natural causes.
Juan was born in 1931 in Puerto Rico. He later came to Philadelphia and met his beloved wife, Loretta. Prior to her passing, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage and were the parents of six children.
Juan was never a man to sit still. He was always outside working on something whether it was in his garage fixing things, or in his yard planting a garden or just yard work in general. He always loved when family was around to lend a hand or just there to hang out. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He will be deeply missed.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Loretta Cruz; and grandson, Daniel Cruz.
Surviving are his children, Rosemarie Czock and her husband, Robert Czock, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; Margarita Cruz and her boyfriend, Chris, Hamlin; Mary Freeman and her husband, Jerry Freeman, Plymouth; Helena Ross and her husband, Joe, Mansfield; Juan Cruz Jr. and his wife, Maryellen, Wilkes-Barre; David Cruz and his wife, Cristine, Larksville; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses at Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre for being there in the end and for the kindness shown to the family members.
Private funeral services will be held. Juan will be laid to rest with his wife, the one person he could not wait to be with.
