Marcia Aston Obituary
Marcia was born in Wilmington, Del., on May 21, 1938, and died Thursday, April 14, 2022.
She attended Conrad High School, Wilmington, graduated from Hanover College in Indiana Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in English and graduated from Drexel University with a master's degree in library science.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Richard Aston; and their children, Mark, Joan and Deborah; grandchildren, Thomas, Mary, Peter, Clara, Michael, Caroline and Hannah; and her sisters, Cynthia, Margaret, Priscilla and Mary Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David.
Marcia worked as a librarian, most recently at King's College and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was an active member of the Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church and a committee member of the Osterhout Library. She was an avid reader who read more than a book a week for most of her life, enjoyed her grandchildren, long walks, her pets and cross stich embroidery.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will follow in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m.
