Marion C. Borland, 94, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at The Gardens of Tunkhannock, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Plymouth on Aug. 14, 1927, the daughter of the late John A. and Caroline Ruzbarsky Kraynak.
She was a longtime resident of Plymouth, where she was a member of the graduating class of 1944 of Plymouth High School and a former member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
Marion was employed as a seamstress by Bass Manufacturing, Plymouth, until her retirement in 1987.
Marion was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing a good game of Scrabble with her grandchildren and loved attending her grandson's sporting events of soccer and baseball. Marion loved to polka dance with her favorite partner, her brother, Paul. Praying the rosary always gave her comfort.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 52 years, Charles "Charlie" Borland, on April 14, 2000; brothers, John and Paul Kraynak; sisters, Bette Joan Walters; and Geraldine "Jean" Carey.
Surviving are daughter, Bonnie A. Ortley, Burleson, Texas; son, Charles Borland and his wife, Kimberly, Dallas; five grandchildren, Kristin Spires; Karen Kuhlman; Kimberly Ortley; Kelly Andrews; and Kyle Borland, eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a blessing service officiated by the Rev. Vincent Dang. Interment to follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Lehman Twp.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday.
Because of Marion's love for animals, donations can be made in her memory to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the entire staffs of the Village of Greenbriar, Geisinger 65 and The Gardens of Tunkhannock for their excellent care and compassion given to Marion in her time of need.
