Mary Cunius Obituary

Mary Cunius, 66, of Swoyersville, passed away in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018.

Born in Kingston on July 5, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. Rushton and Helen Berdy Rushton. She was a graduate of West Side Voc-Tech School, Pringle. She retired from Verizon Telephone in 2003. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Edwardsville. Mary was a member of the Mother's and Daughter's Club and former Cemetery Administrator.

Surviving are her husband, Michael, with whom she celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on May 24, 2018; son, Michael Jr., of Swoyersville; sister, Alexsandra Pocono, Swoyersville; brother, John and wife, Karen, Swoyersville; sister, Helen and husband, Joseph Grumblis, Pringle; brother, Thomas A. Rushton and wife, Mary, Copperas Cove, Texas; sister, Olga Conant, Edwardsville; aunt, Mary Koscuiszko, Kingston; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with Requiem Service at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church with the Rev. George Volkovinsky, pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday with Parastas service at 5 p.m. at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp.

Internment will be in St. John Roman Orthodox Cemetery, Pringle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 93 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, PA 18704.
