Michael Coffee Obituary

Michael (Mickey) Coffee of Mountain Top passed away Thursday, one day after his 69th birthday. He fought a long, hard battle at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia following an auto accident on Aug. 30, where he was hit by a drunk driver.

His greatest joys in life were his family, friends, his business, jet skiing on Harveys Lake and attending car shows and car cruises.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Edith.

Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Ostopick Coffee; children, Michaelene Coffee, Mountain Top; Kim Coffee, Harveys Lake; Michael Coffee Jr., Harveys Lake; Nicole Coffee, Nanticoke; brother, Adam Coffee Jr., with whom Michael shared a special business and personal relationship with, and his wife, Marge; sisters, Dory and Carole Coffee; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dear Barbara, Michaelene, Kim, Mike and Nicole

Sad news travels across the miles and hit the shores of New Zealand. It's wonderful to read the warm wishes of family and friends in your guest book as we all wish Mickey enjoys the great 'Car Show in the Sky'. My first memories as your cousin was your fabulous wedding at the cottage (though it's difficult to believe that was 45 years ago).

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time but he cherished each of you and your special relationship. I am sure you will all treasure your memories of this past summer on Harvey's Lake, as he would only want you to dwell on the good times.
Fondly

The area has lost a Great Friend. He will be greatly missed. He always had a friendly smile and friendly words for everyone. At the local Car Cruises he was always a big hit with his cars. The kids especially enjoyed his toy trains on the back of his pick-up. His generosity was known to many. He was one of a kind, ....My condolences to his entire family

Dear Nicole,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. No matter how old we become, the loss of a parent is a profoundly touching experience. I pray that you will be strong and discover the comfort of friends and family through this sad moment.
