Michael Fedor, 74, of Duryea, died Friday afternoon, May 13, 2022, in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born Jan. 10, 1948, in Taylor, son of the late Walter and Ann Francis Fedor, Michael was a 1965 graduate of Taylor High School. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and upon his honorable discharge, he attended Johnson College, where he received degrees in HVAC and welding. Michael was employed for 35 years by McKinney, prior to its closing. He was a part-time police officer for Taylor Borough from 1972 to 1980. He also worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot, and most recently with Valley Auto a few days a week. Michael was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Taylor.
A loving father, he made sure his children were very well taken care of and knew how much he loved them. A car enthusiast, Michael was a member of the Sports Car Club of America and was a volunteer driver for the Old Forge Ambulance. Gone way too soon, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Drs. Joseph Kapcia, Stephen Voyce, Michael Tracy and Donald Preate. You truly were angels in human form and your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his daughter and caregiver, Teresa Ann Ceccoli, Old Forge; son, Chris Fedor and wife, Suzanne, Springville; son in-law, Dean Ceccoli, Avoca; grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Jeremy; his companion of 30 years, Janice Matthews, Duryea; sister, Pat Kramer; brother, Walter Fedor and wife, Sonia; and several nieces and nephews.
His former wife, Patricia Palmiere Fedor; sister, Ann Lee; and nephew, Raymond Berkowski preceded him in death.
A blessing service followed by military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday from Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

I'm very sorry to learn of the passing of Mike. WE grew together in the "Patch". I will always remember him as being a humble and friendly person who was very well liked by everyone. I'm sure God will welcome him with open arms and will watch over him for eternity.
