Michael Olinits Obituary
Dr. Michael P. Olinits, 67, passed into eternal life Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022.
Born in Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Peter and Marie Maloney Olinits. He will be missed immensely by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Joyce Williams Olinits.
Dr. Olinits was of the Catholic faith. He was a proud member of both the American Dental and Pennsylvania Dental Associations. Dr. Olinits fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a dentist. Upon graduating Temple Dental School, he practiced in Pocono Summit for 39 years. He was exceptionally proud of his profession and made many friends throughout his career.
Dr. Olinits was proud of his alma mater and loved cheering on the Boston College Eagles. Furthermore, he was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He attended numerous games and playoffs throughout the years.
Doc was preceded in death by his beautiful beloved daughter, Amber Marie, in 2019, who surely he will be holding tightly in heaven; nephew, Nicholas D. Polifko; brother-in-law, Gerald Williams; and in-laws, Anna-Marie and Donald Williams.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife, Joyce, are his sons, Peter (wife, Pam) and Michael (wife, Marysia); three grandsons, Liam, Logan and Kellan; brother, Robert Olinits; sister, Donna Bartoletti; and his four godchildren, Kevin, Sarah, A.J. and Anna Marie. He also had numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Giving back to the community was very important to Doc. Donations in his name can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, P.O. Box 1088, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18703, or at https://bit.ly/3Ak3PHn.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Church, 5700 Bear Creek Blvd., Bear Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Shavertown.

Joyce, Robert, Donna and Family:
Having known Mike and your family for more than "50" years, I am deeply saddened by his passing. I remember spending many hours at his parent's house celebrating !! I remember BC tailgating and the football games when BC was competitive!! I remember his enormous sense of humor and his pride and love for his family. I remember his advice to my son, Daniel, when he was applying to dental school! BTW, his practice is flourishing here in Ct.!! I will keep Michael's memory in my thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in peace. Godspeed , my brother!
